Next Generation Wound Management

With a unique structure and composition, the MIRRAGEN® Advanced Wound Matrix represents an innovative solution for chronic wound management.

Unique Wound Management Biomaterial

MIRRAGEN® Advanced Wound Matrix is based on a resorbable and biocompatible borate-based glass fiber specifically designed for wound management. The material will slowly dissolve upon exposure to body fluid.  Following reapplication, any MIRRAGEN® material remaining at the wound site is absorbed by the surrounding tissue.

Fibrous Structure

The fibrous structure of MIRRAGEN® Advanced Wound Matrix was specifically engineered to absorb fluid from the wound bed.  The spacing of the fibers within the matrix creates a pore network that allows it to hold approximately 3ml of fluid per square inch.  The fluid absorbing properties of MIRRAGEN® Advanced Wound Matrix allows it to be used on heavily exudating wounds with reapplication every 3-7 days, or as needed.
